Tara Dawn Bach-Martinez

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tara Dawn Bach-Martinez (TDB) was a ski racer and professional dancer for many years. Her lifelong passion for health and fitness has led her to study a wide range of Eastern and Western techniques and philosophies; her unique synthesis of these provides the foundation for Totally Designed Body, which she began more than 12 years ago and currently co-owns and co-directs with her husband, Victor Martinez. Tara holds a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology from Columbia University Teacher's College, is a Board Certified Reflexologist, a Certified Pilates teacher and, in February of 1997, received her international yoga teaching certification at The Sivananda Ashram in India. She has certifications from numerous fitness organizations, including the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the American Council on Exercise (ACE). She is certified as an Exercise Medical Specialist from the American Academy of Fitness Professionals (AAFP) and has studied neuromuscular therapy with Dr. Paul St. John. Early in her career, she was an Exercise Specialist at the Sports Training Institute. She has worked with celebrities and professional athletes. For eleven years she was a faculty member of Marymount Manhattan College in the Fitness Instructor Certification program. Tara is an ordained minister in the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness and has a Masters Degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. She danced with the Nat Horne Company in New York City for many years and she was Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer for Motiance in St. Maarten, Artists Raising the Consciousness of Humanity (ARCH), and the Discovery Program for Children's Musical Theater and Dance in New York City. She was Director of Bach Triata, a summer dance and sports camp in Vermont, for twelve years. She conducts educational seminars for personal trainers in New York City and teaches dance and fitness classes throughout the United States. Her own, unique "T-Bach Method" of stress reduction is currently being patented. She is a dedicated swimmer and long-distance cyclist who has completed the Boston-to-New York AIDS ride five times. Tara is currently attending Mercy College pursuing her DPT, Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Victor Martinez

Victor Martinez became interested in fitness as a child and over the years has participated in many sports, including semiprofessional baseball. Victor studied criminal justice at John Jay College and is a graduate of both the Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer programs at Marymount Manhattan College. He holds national fitness certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and is a Certified Pilates teacher and member of the Pilates Method Alliance. He is also certified in Active Isolated Stretch (AIS) and the T-Bach Method of Stress Reduction, and has studied neuromuscular therapy with Dr. Paul St. John. Victor specializes in designing fitness programs for adolescents. He is an avid tennis player, long distance cyclist, and runner. He is co-owner and co-director of Totally Designed Body. Victor is a graduate of the Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy (School of Massage Therapy and Allied Health Sciences) in New York City with a degree in Occupational Therapy and holds a New York State Board license in massage therapy.
